Adaptación y propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Suicidio de Paykel en adultos venezolanos

El suicidio representa un problema de salud pública mundial que afecta a personas de todas las edades. En Venezuela, la escasez de instrumentos estandarizados para medir la conducta suicida limita la detección temprana y la investigación. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo adaptar psicométricamente la Escala de Suicidio de Paykel en adultos venezolanos. Se realizó una investigación de tipo instrumental, con un diseño no experimental y transversal, utilizando un muestreo no probabilístico. El análisis de validez de contenido a través de la valoración de expertos teóricos resultó en una versión final de 7 ítems, lingüística y conceptualmente pertinente. El análisis
factorial confirmatorio corroboró una estructura interna unidimensional con excelentes índices de ajuste, tanto para el modelo de ideación suicida (6 ítems) como para el de conducta suicida (7 ítems). Se obtuvo evidencia robusta de validez convergente, divergente y diagnóstica, demostrando la capacidad del instrumento para diferenciar entre grupos clínicos y no clínicos y su relación con constructos afines. Finalmente, la escala mostró una alta consistencia interna, confirmando su confiabilidad. Se concluye que la PSS-V es una herramienta breve, válida y confiable, que optimiza la identificación de población en riesgo en Venezuela y constituye un aporte para la intervención clínica y la investigación.
