SUJETO Y SUBJETIVIDAD EN LAS CIENCIAS SOCIALES

Resumen

Sujeto y subjetividad, tanto en forma positiva como en forma negativa, están bastante presentes en la literatura de ciencias sociales. En este trabajo partimos de una referencia a la definición filósofica de sujeto para procurar, primero, ofrecer algunas consideraciones respecto al tratamiento que se le ha dado a una y otra noción en algunas de las teorizaciones más conocidas en el campo de la Sociología, particularmente, las de los fundadores de esa ciencia, con una muy breve mención a dos teorías contemporáneas; y segundo, señalar a modo de cierre, algunas dificultades conceptuales que, a nuestro juicio, conlleva el uso de uno y otro término en relación con fenómenos sociales.

SUBJECT AND SUBJECTIVITY IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

Abstract

Subject and subjectivity, both positively and negatively, are quite present in social science literature. In this work we start from a reference to the philosophical definition of subject to try, first, to offer some considerations regarding the treatment that has been given to both notions in some of the most well-known theorizations in the field of Sociology, particularly, those of the founders of that science with a very brief mention of two contemporary theories; and second, to point out, as a way of closing, some conceptual difficulties that, in our opinion, entail the use of both terms in relation to social phenomena.
