Ars poética de Eleazar León

Resumen

El artículo aborda una lectura temática de la obra poética del escritor venezolano Eleazar León (1946-2009) a la luz de la tradición moderna. Se categoriza una serie de tópicos fundamentales: «naturaleza», «tiempo», «memoria», «el mal» y «muerte y trascendencia». Los textos seleccionados reúnen signos de la mencionada tradición: irracionalidad, oscuridad, hermetismo y abstracción, todo ello en contacto con el romanticismo, por el empleo de contenidos como el sueño, la noche, el mal, la muerte, nostalgia, viaje y retorno a la Edad de Oro. Hallamos, a su vez, una fuerte carga simbólica, de intenso acento metafísico, un manejo recurrente de la segunda persona, un énfasis en la imagen más que en el concepto y una preferencia por la negación en tanto postura filosófica.

The paper focuses on a thematic reading of the poetry of Venezuelan writer Eleazar Leon (1946-2009) in the light of the modern tradition. Likewise, it categorizes a series of fundamental topics: «nature», «time», «memory», «evil» and «death and transcendence.» The selections gather some signs of the aforementioned tradition: irrationality, darkness, secretiveness (secrecy) and abstraction, all of them in contact with the romanticism, by the use of contents as sleep, night, evil, death, nostalgia, trip and return to the Golden Age. At the same time, we found a strong symbolic, an intense metaphysical stress, a recurring management of the second person, an emphasis on image rather than on the concept and a preference for denial in both philosophical stance.
