SÍMBOLOS DE LLANERIDAD EN LA POESÍA MUSICAL DE JOEL HERNÁNDEZ

Resumen

El símbolo, según Estébanez Calderón (1999: 983) es una “convención social que provoca en el lector emotiva impresión de algo”. Cirlot (1982: 45) afirma que “lo simbolizado aparece como cualidad o forma superior y también como esencia que justifica la existencia del simbolizante”. Este estudio, cuyo referente es la poesía musical llanera, pretende identificar, distinguir e interpretar cinco símbolos emblemáticos de ciertas costumbres y tradiciones del llano: sombrero, cobija, cuchillo, caballo y mujer, impuestos en nuestra cultura como íconos de llaneridad, palabra que según Pérez Cruzzatti (2003: 54) es un “patronímico que representa el gentilicio llanero y la condición que define ser llanero”.

ABSTRACT
Any symbol, according to Estébanez Calderón (1999: 983), is the "social convention that causes in the reader an emotional impression on something". Cirlot (1982: 45) states that "what is symbolized appears in a superior quality or shape and even as an essence that justifies the existence of the element that it symbolizes". In this essay, referencing the musical poetry from the "llanos" of Venezuela, I pretend to identify, distinguish and study five emblematic symbolic traditions from this part of the country: the hat, the blanket, the knife, the horse and the woman, all of which have been imposed to our iconography of llaneridad (as the necessary condition to be considered from this Venezuelan regional tradition): a expression that, according to Pérez Cruzzatti (2003: 54), is a traditional cognomen that represents the demonym of this region and the condition that defines its nature".
