Abstract

Several photo-geomorphological evidences of Quaternary reverse faulting have been observed along the southern front of the Northern Range in Trinidad between Port-of-Spain and the Matura Bay. Such a mountain front shows an imbricated pattern of reverse faulting towards the south. It is postulate that a such reverse fault system correspond to the surface expression of a mayor strike-slip feature which is interpreted as the southern border of the transpression zone of the Northern Range. Is is considered that al these reverse faults are not connected to the right-lateral slip system of San Sebastian-El Pilar.
