MORFOANATOMÍA DE LAS FLORES SUBTERRÁNEAS Y ALGUNOS ASPECTOS REPRODUCTIVOS DE DOS ESPECIES ANFICÁRPICAS DE Centrosema (DC.) BENTH. (FABACEAE)

Resumen

La anficarpía es un fenómeno que ocurre en algunas especies, el cual consiste en la producción de frutos aéreos y subterráneos en la misma planta, siendo ventajoso para ellas, ya que asegura su persistencia ante condiciones desfavorables. Esta investigación tiene como objetivos: caracterizar y comparar la morfoanatomía de las flores subterráneas de dos especies anficárpicas, C. rotundifolium Mart. ex Benth. y C. venosum Mart. ex Benth., e inferir algunos aspectos de su biología reproductiva. Para caracterizar morfoanatómicamente cada uno de los verticilos florales se recolectaron flores y se procesaron sus piezas siguiendo la metodología clásica para su estudio con microscopio óptico y electrónico de barrido. Se calculó la asignación de recursos a las partes fértiles y estériles y también las relaciones polen/óvulo por flor y semilla/óvulo por flor. Se concluyó que existen similitudes en el tamaño y en la morfoanatomía de sus piezas. Las flores son cleistógamas, con diferencias claras entre ellas y las aéreas. El androceo es monadelfo, presenta estambres fértiles y estériles con anteras morfológicamente diferentes. El nectario es vestigial. El estigma es papiloso, bordeado por tricomas periestigmáticos, y cubierto por una membrana. La asignación de biomasa es dirigida principalmente al perianto seguido de los verticilos reproductivos. La eficiencia en producción de semillas es del 100%.
