Resumen

During an entomological survey at La Cienaga del Cerro La Horqueta , near the locality of Pecaya, Falcon state, Venezuela, plants of cocuy (Agave cocui) were observed with symptoms of wilt and rotted stems, which harbored large galleries with larvae and adults of the agave weevil, Scyphophorus acupunctatus Gyllenhal. This is the first record of this pest in this plant species for the state of Falcon.
