El Texto Escolar como Objeto de Reflexión e Investigacion

Resumen

El papel que el texto escolar cumple en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, como mediador entre el docente y el alumno, lo convierte en un recurso pedagógico de singular relevancia. Su importancia trasciende la misión de difundir los saberes propios de las diferentes disciplinas científicas, sociales y humanísticas, dado que, en el cumplimiento de esta misión, también transmite valores y actitudes que contribuyen a moldear la personalidad de los educandos. Esto hace que, en virtud de la importancia de sus efectos, haya de convertirse en centro de preocupación pedagógica, académica y política para docentes, investigadores y autoridades educativas. En este artículo se intentan lograr dos propósitos: a) inventariar y considerar los diferentes términos y significados usados para definir este medio de enseñanza, a objeto de proponer un concepto que permita contribuir a acabar con la anarquía terminológica; y b) revalorizar al texto escolar como objeto de investigación, dada su importancia estratégica en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

ABSTRACT
The function that the school textbook fulfills in the instructional process, as mediator between the teacher and the student, turns it into a pedagogical resource of singular relevance. Its importance extends the mission of spreading knowledge proper to the different scientific, social and humanistic disciplines, since the fulfillment of this mission also transmits values and attitudes that contribute to mold the students personality. This makes that, by virtue of the importance of its effects, it has become center of the pedagogical, academic and political preoccupation for educators, as well as researchers and educational authorities. Two goals are intended with this article: a) to make an inventory of the different terms and meaning used to define this instrumental tool asameans of contributing, to contribute to eliminate the terminological anarchy; and b) to revalue the school textbook as an object of investigation, given its strategic importance in the instructional process.
