| Abstract: | El consumo de drogas se considera una problemática de creciente proliferación y
preocupación a nivel mundial, siendo los adolescentes la población más vulnerable hacia
el inicio del consumo. Estudios han acertado en la importancia de la prevención en dicha
área, así como la pertinencia del estudio de aquellas estrategias de afrontamiento que el
adolescente utiliza para enfrentar los agentes estresores típicos de dicha etapa. Se realizó
una investigación cuantitativa, de tipo no experimental de campo, con un diseño de tipo
trasversal y con un alcance correlacional. La muestra fue de 403 adolescentes de ambos
sexos entre 12 y 19 años de edad, estudiantes de dos centros educativos públicos
establecidos en el Mun. Baruta, Venezuela. Se les aplicó un cuestionario para evaluar
variables demográficas, consumo de alcohol, tabaco y marihuana, así mismo se aplicó la
Escala de Afrontamiento para Adolescentes – forma general (2000) en su versión en
español. Los resultados fueron cargados en la v. 19 del programa estadístico SPSS a
través del cual se pudieron aplicar los estadísticos descriptivos correspondientes, la
prueba T de Student para muestras independientes y Análisis de Varianza de un solo
factor (ANOVA). Los datos extraídos permitieron seleccionar como factor de protección
al consumo de drogas aquellas estrategias asociadas al cumplimiento de metas,
compromiso, pensamiento positivo y resolución de conflictos de forma sistemática. De
igual manera se pudo identificar la falta de afrontamiento, desinterés por la problemática,
búsqueda de actividades de ocio y conducta reservada como factores de riesgo hacia el
consumo. Abstract Narcotics consumption is considered a growing problem of worldwide concern, and teenagers are the group at the highest propensity to start taking them. Some studies have made accurate emphasis in the importance of preventing strategies in this area and the pertinence of studying the coping strategies that the teenager uses to face the different stress agents typical for that period in life. This corresponds to a non experimental field quantitative research for a correlational transversal study. The sample was structured by 403 teenagers of both genders in ages between 12 and 19 years old taken out of two public schools in Baruta County, Venezuela. It was applied a questionnaire to set the demographic variables and the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis. At the same time it was applied the adolescent coping scale, general Spanish version (2000). The results were uploaded in the v.19 of the SPSS statistics software and with this it was possible to obtain the corresponding statistical descriptions: the test T of Student for independent for independent sampling and the Single Factor Variance Analysis (ANOVA). The Data taken allowed identifying as protection factor from the consumption of drogues, those strategies associated with goals achieving, engagement, positive thinking, and systematic problem solving. In the same way, it was possible to identify the lack of coping, lack of interest for the problem, the quest for leisure activities and introverted behavior as risk factors towards the consumption. |
